I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night.

The job of a watchman is to stay alert and warn those he is guarding of any approaching danger. Rather like our service for our Lord, it’s a full-time responsibility. Whether we’re telling others about him, or singing his praise, let us – like the watchmen – never be silent. As our Lord said to the Pharisees who complained about the exuberant praises of his disciples as he rode into Jerusalem, ‘If these were silent, the very stones would cry out.’ (Lk.19:40) With such encouragement, may we too never be silent!
