We all make plans; indeed, without them life would be a bit chaotic! But, as Christians, let us never forget that God also has plans for us: ‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ (Jer.29:11) Let’s try to ensure, through prayer, that our plans are always in harmony with his, never in conflict. James reminds us of the right approach to planning: you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this and that.’ (4:15)
