The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.

The true light is the author of all life. He gives everyone life and breath and everything else. (Acts 17:24-25)
Light and life are inseparably linked in God. Only in mankind, because of sin, has a fault line appeared between the spiritual and the physical. The Word became flesh (Jn.1:14) – Jesus came to restore that broken connection.
