“For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:30

In Ethiopia at one time, the people had to cross swollen rivers on foot because their bridges had been washed away after severe rains. There was a real danger of being swept off their feet and taken away by the current. To solve this, they put rocks in hessian bags, slung them on their backs and crossed safely. The Lord places burdens upon us just to keep out feet steady as we walk with him, otherwise, we may get swept away in the currents of this world or our own selves.
