“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
The church of the Laodiceans was a church that may be typical of our western world today. Lukewarm, going through the motions and the Lord is saying ‘I stand at the door and knock’. He was waiting for the invitation to enter their lives and put them on fire for him. In Holman Hunt’s famous painting the Light of the World the door has the handle on the inside only. Is he knocking today at your heart to come in to enjoy fellowship with you and bless you beyond measure?
