“Live in temporary shelters for seven days … Your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.”
Leviticus 23:42-43
There were two aspects in this festival that reminded the Israelites of what God is like: the replica wilderness dwellings and the fruit of the harvest. These pointed to salvation and the goodness of God in meeting their everyday needs thereafter. We too easily take God’s blessings to us for granted; make today your own feast celebrating these factors in your life.
