Young and old alike, teacher as well as student, cast lots for their duties.

1 Chronicles 25:8

David singled out 288 singers, to perform the very specific service of praising God in song. Age was irrelevant as all were trained and skilled in music for the Lord. With their natural talent trained to perfection, they were all equally keen to take part in this service. As the Psalmist could write, how good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him (Psa.147:1). Do we feel the same as we enter his courts with praise this morning? To praise our great God and Saviour it is indeed, good, pleasant and above all fitting.
