During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.

Hebrews 5:7

Abraham had been willing to sacrifice Isaac because he reasoned God could raise him from the dead (11:19). The prayers of the Lord Jesus were heard and answered in resurrection. What Abraham reasoned was proved correct in Christ. And look at the impact of that – freeing those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death (2:15).

How thankful we are – for the power of God and the submission of the Son.
