O LORD, in distress they sought you; they poured out a whispered prayer when your discipline was upon them.

No discipline is pleasant, but it does benefit those who are caused to change their ways. During the process, praying may be difficult with it being an effort to come into God’s presence. It’s good to know that a ‘whispered prayer’ is heard and accepted by the God we serve. Such prayers indicate the extremity into which we have been brought, but it is where his love and care are most deeply felt and known.
