Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer.

Our great High Priest waits for our spiritual sacrifices on the Sunday morning to offer them to his God and Father. This morning may we fill his hands with ’freshly beaten out’ offerings of worship (worthy of him) that he may have something to offer: the brothers with their audible prepared offerings and the sisters with their silent devotion of the blessed Saviour.
