She made a vow, saying, “LORD Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and … give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life.”

Hannah shows disciple faith even in difficult times. Her vow was remarkable and a sacrifice, and she kept it, as God would expect (Eccl.5:4-5). God blessed her because of it. If she had been selfish, the opportunity for blessing would surely have been lost – in her own life, in God’s house and among God’s people.
‘Lord, increase our faith’ is to be our cry.
