“Am I only a God nearby … and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? … Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:23-24
Three rhetorical questions with one unquestionable answer: our omnipotent God is omnipresent! Despite the fact that he does indeed fill heaven and earth, he is not remote and aloof; rather, quite remarkably, He is not far from any one of us as Paul explained to the Athenians (Ac.17:27). This closeness led to his Son being found in human form before he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross (Phil.2:8). All this for our salvation!
