Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “… a sword will pierce your own soul too.”

The trauma of watching her literally perfect Son hanging on a tree is foretold by Simeon. But Easter Day brought that greatest blessing, also envisioned by Simeon for Mary, eternal life, with her Saviour. Today, we think with joy, yet sadness of how He stooped to die and praise Thy name with gladness, He’s seated now on high.
