Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

John 20:29

That’s us! Although we’ve neither seen nor met him, we can still unhesitatingly echo Peter’s words ’You are the Christ, the Son of the living God’ (Mat.16:16). Amazing to think that this simple act of faith makes us ‘blessed,’ ‘happy and joyful’. That’s how Jesus sees it. Perhaps Peter was reflecting on this incident, which he had witnessed, when he wrote though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy (1 Pet.1:8). As believers on the Lord Jesus, we are blessed indeed!
