Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.
Philippians 4:17
Paul was commending the Philippian believers on their generosity when no other church had thought of or provided for his needs. What generosity of these dear saints!
Although he was appreciative of their giving, he was more focused on the fruit to their credit in their giving to him. The Lord loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7) and a giver will be fruitful in the giving.
