‘I will give them singleness of heart and action,
so that they will always fear me
for their own good and
the good of their children after them.’

Jeremiah 32:39

It’s a very natural tendency to want to leave something to our children and grandchildren in our wills. Could there be a better legacy than a fear of the Lord, combined with a singleness of heart and purpose? One heart and one way, as most versions put it.
Paul had a similar desire, urging those in Philippi to make me completely happy by having the same thoughts, sharing the same love and being one in soul and mind (2:2). He also states quite unequivocally, we have the mind of Christ (1 Cor.2:16). It should be our longing too.
