‘Go up to the mountain and bring wood, and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,’ says the LORD.

Haggai 1:8 (NKJV)

These instructions from the Lord of Hosts were preceded by the clear injunction to consider your ways. The Lord wanted them to make the effort to gather the materials to build his house, in accordance with his design and plans. Haggai assured the people this would result in the Lord taking pleasure in it and being glorified.
Should we take a rain check and consider our ways? How much effort do we put into building up and maintaining his house? Does our worship and service correctly follow his instruction?
Let’s do our best to ensure he still gets pleasure and glory from his house.
