Do not forget to do good and to share with others,
for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Hebrews 13:16

Central to the Lord’s teaching was the importance of doing good and sharing with others. John the Baptist understood this and, in answer to a question Jesus later posed, said, ‘The man with two tunics should share with him who has none.’ (Lk.3:11)
We need to take on board the same message heeding Paul’s exhortation to the Philippians, not looking to your own interests, but each of you to the interests of others (2:4). How encouraging that ‘doing good’ and ‘sharing with others’ – surely natural behaviour for a Christian – are so clearly classified as being ‘pleasing to God’.
