But the Lord said to Samuel,
’Do not consider his appearance or his height,
for I have rejected him. … People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’

1 Samuel 16:7

Jesus said, ‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.’

When God looks at my heart, will he see purity of intention, will he see that I am single-minded, honest and sincere as a disciple? I must strive to make it so, because that is what he wants to see in me.
