And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the LORD: For He is good.
For His mercy endures for ever.

Ezra 3:11 (NKJV)

The key word in this verse is ‘responsively’. When the foundations of the Temple were laid, as the first stage in rebuilding God’s house, the people were simply overjoyed. Their spontaneous reaction, led by the priest, was to ‘shout with a great shout when they praised the Lord’. As we enter God’s house this morning are we equally responsive in our praise to the Lord? We have so much to give thanks for and can certainly echo these shouts of joyful praise, for he is good, and his mercy endures forever.
Let us not miss the opportunity to tell him so!
