They asked each other about their well-being,
and they went into the tent.

Exodus 18:7

Clearly Moses and Jethro had great respect for each other, so it was natural that when they met they should ask each other about their well-being.
Is this something we do when we meet each other? In Moses’ case, what resulted was sound advice which greatly improved his peace of mind and helped him to lead God’s people more effectively. It may be that one of our fellow saints is in need of help or advice, or we may be ourselves. God knows, of course – but we won’t unless and until we ask about each other’s well-being.
