‘As soon as you began to pray, a word went out,
which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed.’
Three times Gabriel tells Daniel that he is a man loved by God. Even the name given to him by the Babylonians, Belteshazzar, means May God protect his life. Brave, courageous Daniel had a wonderful habit. Three times every day he would kneel and pray to God. Prayer is a powerful tool. It is immediate. It engages spiritual forces around us. For Daniel, it brought visions of a future which is still unfolding.
