Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died, and he gave them the same names his father had given them.

Genesis 26:18

The Philistines filled in the wells with earth. They ‘rubbished’ the claims that faith had made. Isaac re-dug the wells and called them by the same names that his father Abraham had called them. Re-staking his claim to the inheritance God had promised was an act of faith.
