But be doers of the word, and not hearers only.

What a wonderful object lesson in matching actions to words that James must have received from his brother! No wonder Peter could testify of the Lord to Cornelius that, ‘He went around doing good…because God was with him.’ (Ac.10:38)
Can the same be said of us in the way we live as Christians? Are we doers of the word? Let us strive every day to put Paul’s words into practice and live lives worthy of God (1 Thes.2:12).
