“But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any person or animal. Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.”

Exodus 11:7

This was a night of utter terror. In every Egyptian household a firstborn lay dead, struck by God’s angel of death. Everywhere there was confusion and screaming as the Egyptians ran from their houses in fear for their lives. This contrasts sharply with God’s people. Guaranteed God’s protection by the spilt blood, not even a dog had been disturbed as the angel of death passed through the land.

True for God’s people then and true for God’s people today – the spilt blood of the Lamb of God guarantees us eternal protection.
