Then he sent his brothers away,
and as they were leaving he said to them,
’Don’t quarrel on the way!’

Genesis 45:24

How well Joseph knew his brothers! He had overheard them quarrelling when he was neglected in the pit before being sold into slavery and again as they spoke in his presence without realising he could understand every word. It was mainly the ‘blame game’! This was particularly pointless as Joseph had not only forgiven them unreservedly, but, amazingly, without any lingering feeling of bitterness.
It’s only a shadow of the all-forgiving love of our great Redeemer God who says he ‘Will remember their sins no more.’ (Heb.8:12)
