‘I know your deeds,
your hard work and your perseverance.’
In each of the letters John was instructed to write to the seven churches, he uses the same phrase – ‘I know.’ It speaks of the intimate knowledge the One who walks among the seven golden lamp-stands had of each of the churches and those saints who constituted them.
Nothing has changed. He is still the One who knows our deeds, down to the last detail. Our strengths and weaknesses, successes and failures, plans and setbacks. He misses nothing, because he is not watching from the sidelines but ‘walking among the churches’.
What an encouraging, yet challenging thought!
