A woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head.

Matthew 26:27

This action engendered very different reactions! Indignation from the disciples who saw it as a waste of money, whereas the Lord noted that, ‘She has done a beautiful thing to me….to prepare me for burial.’ An opportunity to show love to the Lord – seized by this dear woman but missed by his disciples! They later missed another opportunity. It was Joseph and Nicodemus – not any of the Eleven – who tenderly took the Lord down from the cross to anoint him for burial.
Let us never miss an opportunity to show him our love!
