In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.
So was recorded with care the setting for the most amazing birth that has ever taken place. God the Father also watched over each preparation by the devout, loving couple for the coming of their first son.
Let us likewise prepare a welcome for any we spend time with this holiday, whether family or visitors to our church events. We might soon see a new birth!
