Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD;
keep watch over the door of my lips.

Psalm 141:3

How easy it is for us to cause what could be longstanding harm and hurt by the things we say. How wise this prayer is then, that we should be careful about what we say and how we say it. May we ever strive to put into practice the exhortation of Col.4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
