We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 1:3

Paul was writing about REAL hope, not the ‘fingers-crossed’ variety we so often come across today! This was the assured, ‘no shred of doubt’ type based on our faith in our Lord Jesus. Peter writes in his first letter that God has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1:3). It is a living hope in a living Saviour! Peter goes on to encourage us to always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. (3:15) What a privilege!
