The disciples woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?’ He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

Mark 4:38-39

It must have been some storm to have frightened those seasoned fishermen! But what a question to ask the One who rules the waves! ‘Don’t you care?’ Of course, he cared! He cared enough for them, and for us, to go to Calvary so that we might NEVER perish!
It’s easy to be critical, but at times are we not also guilty of having the same doubts and fears when we’re in trouble? With him ‘in the boat’ with us we need never be worried, so let us trust him and enjoy a great calm in our lives.
