“Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.”

John 17:5

Not only was Jesus praying for the glory of a past eternity, he was also remembering the love which the Father had set on him at that time (v24). He was the Lamb slain before the creation of the world (Rev 13:8), and the Scriptures tell us of so much more that was going on then! Our ‘names have been written in the Book of Life’ (Rev 17:8); He chose us in him (Eph.1: 4); and finally, God’s works were finished’ (Heb.4:3). All this took place ‘before the creation of the world’ and only after this God created the heavens and the earth! (Gen.1:1).
