Despite suffering from a severe famine, Jacob was still determined to give the very best from his meagre resources. Although Joseph had everything he required, this present still touched his heart and brought him pleasure.
Our God has a superabundance of everything and yet he will graciously accept whatever we bring him, however small and insignificant, because our gifts remind him of his son. As we enter his presence tomorrow morning, let us – like Jacob – give of our very best. He deserves nothing less!
