Those who accepted his message were baptised, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Acts 2:41-42

First, they had accepted what Peter preached, receiving a relationship with Jesus. Obeying him as Lord, they were added to the Church of God in Jerusalem. That readiness went on to commitment to fellowship (more than friendship!), learning, breaking of bread, communion, and the church prayers. Along with that came witness. What a model for today! (Compare Romans 6:17)
