Jesus said, While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost
I love the hymn Safe in the arms of Jesus, safe in his tender care. It makes me feel really secure! We have a reminder of our additional security as believers, when the Lord prays, Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name.’ (v11). It is to his Holy Father that the Lord addresses this plea. God’s holiness will always provide a guard against Satan and his evil ways. In this instance, as John had previously noted, the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas …. to betray him (13:2). No matter. This too was part of God’s plan. His will was always prevailing.
