Uzziel, one of the goldsmiths, repaired the next section; and Hananiah, one of the perfume-makers, made repairs next to that. They restored Jerusalem as far as the Broad Wall.
Goldsmiths and perfumers were craftsmen, skilled in the intricate and delicate use of their hands. They were not masons or bricklayers! But when it came to sharing in the work of building something for God, they willingly pitched in and didn’t stand aloof.
We all have our gifts to be used in serving the Lord, but sometimes we all just need to get stuck in to help get a job done, sharing in the bigger picture, the larger vision!
