Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything is coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.
2 Corinthians 3:5 (ESV)
Paul is answering the question posed in the previous chapter: who is sufficient for these things? (2:16). Not him, he readily admits! So, if such a well-educated and experienced man as Paul isnt up to it, what chance do we have of coping with these things and living a victorious Christian life? Remarkably, just the same as Paul, since we dont have to rely on our sufficiency (wisdom and power), but Gods! As Paul told the Corinthians in his first letter (1:24), Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. We can echo Pauls claim: I can do all this through him who gives me strength (Phil.4:13).
