Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey.

Zechariah 9:9

What a paradox; the King of Kings riding on a donkey! This didn’t stop the crowds shouting out as they cheered his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Nothing could silence their praise, despite the efforts of the Pharisees (Lk 19:36-40). What a contrast to his exit: on foot, carrying his own cross; (Jn.19:17) the cross on which he bore our sins in his own body.
This morning let nothing silence OUR praise as we rejoice in our salvation wrought by that righteous, humble One we are so proud to call our King!
