A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing, be clean!” Immediately, he was cleansed.

Matthew 8:2-3

The crowd shrank back, but Jesus touched the man who had been shunned for so long. He saw the man’s faith: at an end of himself, he was ready to trust. Then the Lord said he should show himself to the priest—amazing the priest; and giving him his place, for he could bring the cured man back to society. …and reached out to him. ‘If you are willing,’ was the man’s plea to the Son of God who delighted to do his Fathers’ will.
Praise him for his willingness to reach out to us. Remember to reach back to him.
