“I am your servant Ruth,” she said. “Spread the corner of your garment over me since you are a guardian-redeemer of our family.”

Ruth 3:9

The Hebrew word for ‘wing’ (’skirt’ in some versions) is here translated as ‘the corner of the garment’.
When Jesus longed to gather Israel, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings (Matt.23:37) they rejected him. He came into this world and died to be our guardian-redeemer.
Have you ever fallen at his feet, as Ruth did at Boaz’s feet, and said, ‘Jesus my redeemer; please spread your protective wings over me?’
