David asked him,
“Who do you belong to?
Where do you come from?’”

1 Samuel 30: 13

This young man answered David honestly, admitting that he was an Egyptian who had been left behind by his master when he fell sick. If asked to whom do WE belong, how proud we should be to acknowledge a wonderful Master who we are confident would never abandon US! His promise is so reassuring, ‘Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’ (Matt. 28: 20) This young man was happy to volunteer when David asked. Should we be any less keen to respond when our Master calls us for service?
