Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
I wonder what happened to this teacher and whether he was true to his promise? Was he like Matthew who, shortly after this incident, responded positively when the Lord called him to leave his comfortable job as a tax collector and follow him, or did he drift away when the ‘wherever’ took him out of his comfort zone? Are we fully committed when the going gets tough? ‘Wherever’ can be an uncomfortable place at times!
