Those who were musicians, heads of Levite families, stayed in the rooms of the temple and were exempt from other duties because they were responsible for the work day and night.
1 Chronicles 9:33
It was certainly a full-time job that these musicians – ‘singers’ in some translations – had taken on. Of all the different tasks needed to keep the temple running smoothly, surely none were more rewarding. Each person was using their skills to do the best they possibly could for the Lord. Imagine yourself being hired to praise the Lord full time! This morning we have our opportunity to give him our very best as we raise our voices in praise!
